At RECON, safety is a core value. We believe that our employees are the most valuable assets and we are fully dedicated to protecting the health and safety of all our employees.
An effective safety program must be endorsed by upper management, and at RECON, safety starts at the top. We know that to be truly successful, we must engage management and employees, exhibit leadership and commitment, and express shared accountability for everyone’s welfare, both on and off the job site. Due to the potentially dangerous nature of our work, we surround ourselves with layers of proactive strategy, planning, and hazard mitigation. We embrace a behavioral-based safety program: safely plan every project down to individual task levels, perform regular safety assessments, and strive to continually improve training and establish a workable protocol.
RECON is committed to believing that every accident, and therefore every injury, is preventable. We embed this philosophy into every project, and through our diligent efforts, we have consistently maintained a much healthier safety rating compared to our industry peers.
As leaders in our industry, we take pride in our commitment to safety and our dedication to technical expertise. We are members of the following pre-qualification and compliance organizations Avetta, ISN, and PEC Safety.
Our Safety Program includes:
- Behavioral-based safety
- Job site safety audits and inspections
- Site-specific safety orientation
- Pre-project / Risk Mitigation Planning
- Orientation / Training
- Verify / Validation Program
- Health and Safety / Job Hazard Analysis
- Employee safety incentives through participation
- Team participation in accident and incident investigation
- Drug and alcohol testing
- CPR, AED, and first aid training
Behavior-Based Safety
In addition to the standard OSHA-required safety programs for the construction and hazardous waste industries, RECON has implemented a Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) program that is a peer-to-peer driven process designed to improve safety awareness, safety culture, and safely-executed work behaviors. As a result, safe workplaces, habits, and conditions are created at every work site, office, and personal environment away from work. By identifying at-risk behaviors, our team can analyze trends and work as a team to provide the necessary education and tools to eliminate potentially hazardous behaviors.
